Keelung is my hometown, the place I live, the harbor I see, the rain I feel.
I like Keelung because of the harbor and the sea. When I was young, I liked to walk along the harbor side. I looked the ships and dreamed that I will take the ship to anywhere I want. I still remember that there was one big ship called StarCruise. Many tourists took it and traveled on the ocean. Their destination was Okinawa. Everytime I saw this ship, I felt very happy. I hope one day I can go abroad and see the world.
My father is working in the harbor, so I have much opportunity to visit Keelung harbor. I've seen the dock and ship manufacture factories. I know how they build a ship. Besides, I like to ship in the harbor and enjoy the beauty of Keelung city. For me, a ship is not only a conveyance but also a symbol in my deeply mind.
Recently, here comes a very specail guest, Doulos. It's a Christian bookstore ship. Its vision is bringing knowledge, help and hope to the world. Over 18 million visitors have been welcomed on board for tours, programmes and visits to the floating book fair. This unique ship has visited more than 100 countries in including Africa, the Americas, Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East and many island nations. This time, Doulos visits Keelung. I visited the ship on Saturday and took some photos. I made some friends on the book fair. They were from all over the world. One special friend was from Fano island, whcih located near Norwey. Only less than 50,000 people live there. I felt very surprising. This is my first time to hear such a country. I talked with them and knew that they are volunteers. Because they believe God, they travel with Doulos. It's a very international place. Many people from many countries gather together just due to one belief. They help each other and bring good books to different places. The noble thoughts are admirable. I'm very happy to meet those friends and Doulos in Keelung. They remind my old dream. Hope one day I can do something just like the vision of Doulos.
